Happy Easter From UT SouthWestern!
Easter Vigil and an Update on Ethan
Ann and I were grateful to attend the Easter Vigil last night at St. Benedict’s Anglican Church. It was a beautiful and meaningful time celebrating our risen Savior and lifting up prayers for our son.
Unfortunately, shortly before the service, Ethan and Bridgett were headed back to the hospital. He wasn’t feeling well and had developed a fever—similar to what he experienced last week. This morning, he was admitted again to the Liver Department, and I (Mark) arrived soon after, now that they’re allowing more family to be present.
The doctors gave him antibiotics in case the fever was due to an infection. Then, this morning, they performed the same procedure they did last Tuesday to flush out his liver’s bile ducts. Thankfully, Ethan is in good spirits and already looking forward to eating again soon!
That’s all we know for now. They’ll continue to monitor him and investigate any other possible causes of infection. We’ll share more updates as we learn them.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s been praying for Ethan. We’re also deeply moved by those of you who’ve filled out the donor interest form (you can find the info on the main page), and by the generous support through his GoFundMe. So far, we’ve raised 35% of our goal to help with medical expenses and lost income during this time. Thank you all so much.
I’ll end for now with the historic Christian Easter Greeting and Response:
THE LORD HAS RISEN!
HE HAS RISEN INDEED!
